We are no longer supplying seed outside of Great Britain due to Brexit changes. We are very grateful to all of our customers from EU countries. We will miss you. Hopefully it won't be too long before we are able to resume sales again.
The Landworkers’ Alliance and The Gaia Foundation Seed Sovereignty Programme have joined forces to put together a survey on the State of Seed to better understand what commercial growers' and farmers' experiences are of accessing seed, in particular since the Covid pandemic and Brexit. If you are an organic or agroecological farmer or grower please do fill it out.
The pandemic has been a time of huge upheaval, but from that upheaval, new opportunities have arisen for growers writes Jason Horner of Leen Organics in Ireland in the Spring issue of the Organic Grower (journal of the Organic Growers Alliance).
A reminder that this important consultation on the future of gene editing in England will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 17th March. We encourage all supporters of the Seed Co-operative to make your voices heard.
We believe that going down the GM road is the wrong direction of travel. We believe in the Principle of Care and the wholeness and integrity of living systems.

We believe that to grow organically you need to be ‘organic from the start’. That belief – our gut reaction – is now backed up by science. It is all about seed health and soil health, which links to human health. I have heard people say – why choose organic seed – it surely can’t make any difference? Well – actually it does!
It is partly about approach. Stephanie Klaedtke of ITAB, France argued at the recent EUCARPIA-LIVESEED conference on breeding and seedsector innovations for organic food...

Our seeds represent hard work, the growing season to come, and belief that we can build a better future. The journeys seeds take and the challenges they face are reflections of our own journeys and challenges.
Join us for a...
Our 2021 Catalogue is at the printers and will be with you soon! Our apologies for the delays, but we have been experiencing exceptional demand and have been upgrading our facilities and systems to cope with that. The good news is that it will be in full colour! We hope you like it!

We anticipate that we will be resuming a pattern of occasional short checkout openings with days in between when we will be working through orders. We hope to be opening later this week and a special notification will be sent out when we know when. There is also a notice at the top of our home page that we will keep updated. It is not an easy time with the combination of...
Defra has launched its public consultation on the deregulation of gene editing in England. Deregulation means there would be no or few safety checks and probably no GMO labelling for gene-edited products, even though scientists warn that they could be dangerous for human health and the environment.
Roger Kerr, chief executive at OF&G said:
